The hardest arithmetic to master is that which enables us to count our blessings.

According to legend, a young man while roaming the desert came across a spring of delicious crystal-clear water. The water was so sweet, he filled his leather canteen so he could bring some back to a tribal elder who had been his teacher.

After a four-day journey he presented the water to the old man who took a deep drink, smiled warmly and thanked his student lavishly for the sweet water. The young man returned to his village with a happy heart.

Later, the teacher let another student taste the water. He spat it out, saying it was awful. It apparently had become stale because of the old leather container.

The student challenged his teacher: “Master, the water was foul. Why did you pretend to like it?”

The teacher replied, “You only tasted the water. I tasted the gift. The water was simply the container for an act of loving-kindness and nothing could be sweeter.”

学校的破喇叭还在不知疲倦地放着激越的起床铃。而此时当我发现宿舍里空无一人的时候，急忙绷紧身神经，熟练地叠好毛毯之后，马上拿上牙刷挤进人满为患的洗刷间。回到宿舍后，认真地整理了一下头发，然后当我在欣赏我整理好的错落有致的床铺的时候，管理员大妈就在喊：呀，你这个学生怎么还没走呢！我就像犯了罪似地，拿出枕头底下昨晚只收拾完半壁江山的试卷，落荒而逃跑向操场。

万幸啊，早操还没开始。班主任板着铁脸问我：后面还有咱班的人吗？没了。我不假思索斩钉截铁地回答。这才能显得我聪明果断是个人才吗！不料，我们班一伙计一路飞奔到操场，还没等班主任开口，他就低下头认真地说：对不起呀老师，我来晚了。我当时就想，你小子给他低头哈腰俯首称臣干吗？你来晚和他八竿打不着的关系，你给他道什么歉。你应该给我道歉，因为你我变成了一个不诚实的孩子。

吃过早饭，同学们就喧喧闹闹的回到教室。晨读时，同学们一个个都情绪高涨热血激昂，大家都扯开了嗓子背书，有甚者竟摔课本拍桌子。可是旁边的一位仁兄却不为所动呼呼大睡。嗯，有魄力，我欣赏。不知哪个没吃早饭的家伙在啃包子，弄得满屋子包子味，丫的，你不如去食堂背书。

夏天的雨说来就来气势磅礴，空气中泛着泥土的气息，校园里有一种清新的味道。学习的压力或许在这个雨天可以冲解一下吧！中午放学后，在校园里了一圈，浇灌了一下枯萎的身体。

午休时，雨依然稀稀拉拉地下着，感觉下雨天睡午觉是一种浪费。站在宿舍楼道窗前，校园笼罩在朦胧的雨雾中，晶莹剔透。偶尔，有一位老师从校园快步走过，好像也不愿打破这久违的宁静。回到宿舍，躺在床上，听着外面的滴答声。或许，听着雨睡觉也是一种享受。

下午，雨过天晴，繁华依旧。不过，少了些许喧嚣。阳光总在风雨后，乌云上有晴空。雨后的阳光照在纷乱的课桌上，看着笔尖在笔记本上滑动的影子，有几分温馨、惬意！

又熬过了一个漫长的下午。黄昏，像烧红的炭似的落日收起了最后一抹余晖之后，就消失在了校园后面的山上……

三节漫长的晚自习，整理笔记、改错题、做练习、做试卷……

晚上，躺在床上，大家说了一阵话后都有些累了，慢慢地睡着了。今天，知道了这次考试的成绩，依然是不好不坏毫无起色，问自己过去的努力有收获吗？

曾经以高傲的姿态跨进一中的大门，信心满满地走入高中生活。对旁边人的成功毫不在意，总以为自己不比别人差。可是，在一次次的失败之后，终于明白正视自己，并不是妄自菲薄。日子一天天在过，春去秋来，我依然握紧拳头，充满信心坚定地走出每一步。也只能把艰辛的劳动当做生命的必要，即使没有收获的希望，也心平气和地继续耕作。

告诉自己，明天早晨睁开双眼的时候，你就要坚信生活是美好的，充满希望的。远处火车咔嚓咔嚓的声音还萦绕在耳旁……
